The crying kid by Albert BARTHOLOME
Look at the details :
Would you think she is crying or … sleeping or washing her face ?
BARTHOLOME started doing sculpture once his wife died and he is quite well known for the statue that he did for the Cimetière du Pére Lachaise.
He is definitely a master in “sorrow” with these mourners.
See more in detail as it is so modern looking.
No faces shown, hands in front of the face, heads down, nakedness in all its beauty.
So much love in this gesture.
So much despair.
Albert BARTHOLOME lives and sleeps at the Musée d’Orsay under the bronze figure of the “Crying Little Girl”.
